Robert Alex Sowinski was born February 28, 1947 at Milwaukee, WI to Alex R. and Seraphine J. (Rakowski) Sowinski. He was raised in Milwaukee and graduated from Bayview High School in Milwaukee.
Following his schooling he was drafted into the U.S. Army. After only a short time, he was injured and was honorably discharged from service. He then returned to Milwaukee.
Bob married Patricia Buker and they had two boys, Rob and Dan. In 1985 he married Linda Rohde. Together, they had one son, Alex. They moved to South Dakota in 1986 because of Bob's love of hunting. He worked at the Moccasin Creek Country Club and owned BS Sports Exchange in Aberdeen with his business partner and friend Steve Palluck. Health issues forced him to retire in the late 1990's.
Bob greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. He also spent time collecting coins. Even though he was not able to be as active in the later years of his life, he maintained a great love for his interests.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; three sons, Rob and Dan Sowinski of Milwaukee and Alex Sowinski of Mina; one grandchild; one sister, Susan and one brother Jim both of Milwaukee.
His parents and two infant sisters preceded him in death.
